The Government will provide $3.9 billion over four years to improve the energy efficiency of Australian homes through the installation of insulation and other energy efficiency systems.

As part of the Federal Governments economic stimulus package and to improve the energy efficiency of Australian homes, the Government will pay up to $1,000 for existing houses that do not currently have insulation to be insulated with ceiling insulation.

For most home owners, this amount will cover 100% of the cost of installation.

Landlords can also benefit from a rebate of up to $1000 to install insulation in their rental properties. These rebates are in place now and will end 30 June 2011.
