As part of the Federal Governments economic stimulus package and to improve the energy efficiency of Australian homes, the Government have done back flip and will not pay up to $1,000 for existing houses that do not currently have insulation to be insulated with ceiling insulation as they promissed.

For most home owners, this amount would have covered 100% of the cost of installation.

Landlords also can't benefit from a rebate of up to $1000 to install insulation in their rental properties. As these rebates are not in place now and ended 29 February 2011, seven days after they made training compulsory.
